Chicago lakefront controversy may be coming to an end after 20 years



Promontory Point, located adjacent to Lakeshore Drive in Chicago's Hyde Park neighborhood, has been a beloved staple of the shoreline for decades. But after the city replaced nearly the entire lakefront's original limestone steps with concrete revetments, locals feared the point would be next.


Now, it may finally be getting the protection it needs to prevent environmental degradation.
